His production aesthetic offers warm and organic analog textures cultured with an arsenal of top-shelf analog gear and a vast selection of fine microphones, from ribbon condensers and dynamic mics, 1950s to the 21st century.

Pittsburgh's coolest recording space

In Toronto, Chris had a decade-long run at Reaction Studios as a staff engineer and analog recording gear guru. He had the opportunity to work with such notable artists as The Barenaked Ladies, Rush, Kathleen Edwards, Sum 41, Blue Rodeo, Molly Johnson, Bruce Cockburn, Jane Bunnett, Rheostatics and Sarah Harmer.

The birth of Broadcast Lane Studios in Toronto in the 1990s was based upon creative involvement in production projects demanding pro analog, exacting mixing, and expert CD mastering.

The 21st century Pittsburgh edition of Broadcast Lane Studios has a wealth of killer vintage rack gear, efx and a wide selection of mics for every application.

An excellent studio for those who "get it"

Broadcast Lane Studios does not mix in a DAW or use digital mixers. DAW work stations and digital mixing consoles have provided many modern editing conveniences, granted. They have also provided cheap ways to track many inputs. But DAW does not deliver excellent-sounding output solutions for mixing music and other high-end audio. Broadcast Lane uses DAW where it adds sonic quality, but rejects DAW as a solo format for the music mixing process. Analog is superior and those who know the difference "get it". If that's you, come on down and make some epic music with us. We want you as our next client!

CD Mastering, Studio Recording, Voice Over Recording, Analog Mixing, ENG, Location Sound Services for TV and Film ... Broadcast Lane Studios can handle and has handled any audio project imaginable.
